The hike starts from Megalo Chorio with the meeting point at the municipal parking lot at the entrance of the village.

After making sure that we have the necessary clothing and supplies, we start our hike by initially crossing the paved village road for a few meters and then entering the dense fir forest.

After 4.5 km of walking and after about two and a half hours we arrive at the Kaliakouda refuge which belongs to EOS Karpenisiou.

After resting, we take the same path back to the village where we can enjoy a coffee or a meal in Megalo Chorio.

It is an easy route for beginners of about 9km and 5 hours.
